A collective of educators and students engages in immersive art- and design-driven practice to reimagine higher-education and primary-school teaching and learning at, and beyond, the University of Teacher Education.

Rooted in curiosity, care and attentiveness to diverse histories and voices, the collective offers open-ended impulses that anyone can adapt, question or extend across a growing constellation of educational hubs.

Method: Sympoiesis Talk

Overview:
Map practicum moments, weave shared insights, and reflect on patterns across diverse experiences.

  1. Form Networks (2 min):
Gather in groups of four. Each participant takes three differently colored Post-its.

  2. Post-it Mapping (3 min):
    • Post-it 1: A most engaging internship moment
    • Post-it 2: Something that fell short of your expectations
    • Post-it 3: A surprising insight or encounter

  3. Weave Connections (5 min):
Lay your Post-its on the table or floor. Use yarn to link notes that share themes or spark dialogue—watch the mini-network emerge.

  4. Group Reflection (9 min):
    Discuss the patterns you see:
    • What common threads bind your experiences?
    • Where do differences highlight unique perspectives?
    • How does this networked view spark fresh ideas?

  5. Plenary Share (10 min):
Reconvene and invite each group to name one emergent theme and one action or question for your collective next steps.

Cultural & Contextual Sensitivity:
This method values the interdependence of all voices. Honour varied backgrounds by weaving rather than ranking insights, spotlighting both shared and divergent experiences, and co-creating a richer, more equitable understanding of your practicum learning.
