Warm-Up: Future Learning Environment AI-Prototype
Overview:
A dual-mode exercise blending low-tech prototyping with mindful AI use to envision tomorrow’s classrooms using recycled and consumable materials.
-
Visioning Pause (2 min):
Close your eyes and imagine a learning space 20 years from now—its forms, technologies, and ways of engaging. Notice which features spark excitement or curiosity.
-
Material Prototype (7 min):
In pairs, build a three-dimensional model of your envisioned environment using on-hand consumables and recycled items—cardboard scraps, string, tape, bottle caps, fabric offcuts, etc. Focus on elements that support diverse learners and local contexts.
-
Mindful AI Sketch (3 min, optional):
If desired, augment your prototype with an AI-generated image—using minimal prompts and energy:
-
Prompt: A concise description of your recycled-materials model.
-
Upload: A quick photo of your prototype for grounding.
-
Generate: Produce one illustrative scene to complement your physical build.
-
Prompt: A concise description of your recycled-materials model.
-
Partner Share (5 min):
Swap prototypes and AI visuals with another pair. Discuss how your designs respond to accessibility, cultural relevance, and ecological impact.
-
Group Reflection (3 min):
In plenary, name one insight: How did combining hands-on upcycling with sparing AI support inspire fresh, inclusive ideas?
Cultural & Contextual Sensitivity:
Honour local craft traditions by choosing regenerative, sustainable, or fully recyclable materials that can be reused across projects.
AI & Enegry Awareness:
Use AI sparingly to support visualization and respect its energy footprint. Embrace an agile mindset—prototype rapidly, gather feedback, and iterate—ensuring both technology and materials serve learners and the planet.
